The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is responsible for assuming responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame; providing care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process (both direct and indirect); the health care team members, and the environment; and contributing to the administrative functioning of the nursing unit. The C.R.N.A. must be able to perform accepted procedures commonly used to render the patient insensible to pain during surgical, and other pain producing clinical maneuvers; support life functions during the period in which anesthesia is administered including induction and intubation, provide an appropriate pre-anesthesia management of the patient; provide consultation relating to other forms of patient care such as respiratory therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and special problems in pain relief. Performs pre-anesthesia and post-anesthesia evaluation of the patient. Provides appropriate and effective anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgery or special procedures as needed. Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding person, financial medical or employment of patients, families, and employees of Troy Regional.
EDUCATION
Graduate of Nursing Program and School of Anesthesia for Nurses
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience as a C. R. N. A. is preferred.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
- Current licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of nursing, with a C. R. N. A designation.
- Current C. R. N. A. certificate by A. A. N. A.
- ACLS/BLS
