Troy Regional Medical Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our Administrative Leadership Team. This individual will play a key strategic and operational role in driving our people-centered culture and aligning HR initiatives with the hospital’s mission and goals.

About the Role

As the Director of Human Resources, you will oversee all aspects of human resources management, including recruitment, employee engagement, compensation and benefits, training and development, and regulatory compliance. You’ll collaborate with senior leadership—including the CEO, CFO, COO, and other department heads—to ensure the hospital’s workforce strategy supports exceptional patient care and organizational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute strategic HR initiatives aligned with hospital goals

  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment, workforce planning, and onboarding

  • Manage employee benefits, compensation, and performance systems

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations

  • Foster employee engagement, retention, and organizational culture

  • Provide leadership coaching, policy guidance, and employee relations support

  • Maintain HRIS and ensure accuracy of HR data and reporting

  • Design and implement training and professional development programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • SHRM-SCP or HR certification preferred

  • Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience in Human Resources within a healthcare setting

  • Proven ability to manage HR operations in an organization of 250+ employees

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, etc.)

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
