Staff Accountant
The Accountant plays a key role in the financial operations of Troy Regional Medical Center. This position will play a vital role in managing the day-to-day finances at Troy Regional Medical Center. This person will be responsible for tasks such as tracking income and expenses, assisting with budgeting, and preparing financial reports as well as areas of payroll and accounts payable. This job is crucial for maintaining our hospital’s accurate and efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
Maintain general ledger entries and reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner.
Assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.
Complete cost reporting and track variances to assist with performance evaluations.
Collaborate with department heads and senior leadership to support financial decision-making.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit schedules
- Payroll processing, accounts payable and other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required.
Experience: Prior experience in hospital or healthcare accounting strongly preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel at an above-average level is required.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Meditech, or similar hospital systems) preferred.
Other Requirements:
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple shifting priorities.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Work Conditions
Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional extended hours to meet deadlines.
Office-based work environment with standard business hours.
Must be able to sit, type, and use a computer for prolonged periods.
